Join Behind the Beet for a free Outdoor Garden Class with community cultivator Elliott Kuhn. In this workshop, Elliott, will share his expertise in creating a raised garden bed using scrap wood and everything in between. This project is fun, economical but more importantly, functional. The class will be hosted at the Cottonwood Urban Farm, a hidden oasis in Panorama City, amongst the bees, ducks and trees.

Community Farm Day exists to strengthen our relationship with local ecosystems. By encouraging people to engage with all five senses—to see an orchard, touch a compost pile, hear ducks chattering, taste freshly picked produce, and speak with growers of all levels—we aim to create an experience for the community that is not only fun, family-friendly, and educational but also promotes a sense of belonging and interconnectedness in our natural world. While on the farm, attendees have the opportunity to experience the entire food system, from how humans interact with it to how it returns to the earth and transforms into something new.
